The "Listening" Tea Kettle

Image
I was instantly intrigued by Adagio Teas when I read about them in our textbook, The New Rules of Marketing & PR. I had never heard of them before. Writing this blog has given me the opportunity to really look into the company, explore the website and snoop out what products they sell. But, most importantly, discover how they have creatively taken something as general as selling tea and turned it into something remarkable; and of course, to hear the gossip about Adagio and their tea from avid tea consumers. Located at the bottom left corner of their website, is a tiny pop-up of Google Reviews. If you click on it, it shows over 4,000 reviews, with over 90% of them being positive. Wow.      To me, tea has a very old fashioned feel to it. When I think of tea, I think of European “tea time” and little ladies sipping tea out of porcelain tea cups with their pinkies sticking up. But, Adagio has made tea fresh, fun, adventurous, accessible, and interesting. They haven’t just develop

Chevy's Holiday Ride Restoring Emotion

Eager to see the new Spider Man movie on the big screen, I arrived at AMC Movie Theater early and settled into my seat in the large auditorium.   Random ads were running across the big screen. I was busily munching popcorn and patiently waiting, not paying much attention until one ad in particular completely grabbed my focus. Click on Detroit’s Rod Meloni writes, “Auto Extremist Peter Delorenzo believes the ad agency for Chevy has connected the brand with relatable emotion.” He continues by further quoting Delorenzo, “‘it also goes to re-establish Chevrolet as America’s mainstream brand.” Fortune’s Jeffrey

I'm new to blogging, as I am with most social media and technology. I guess I just never fully embraced it, unlike the rest of my generation. I will be 29 in just a couple weeks and man, do I feel old. I remember I was freshly 21 years old, sitting in a classroom at OSU, listening to a man introduce himself. "I'm so and so, and I'm 28...," he said, and I thought, "wow, he's old to be in school!" Now, here I am. Exactly where he was. Funny how life works out. This is humbling for me, to be back in school. It's made me realize just how different we all are. Different stories. Different futures. Different time-lines. No two exactly alike. And how cool is that? Variety is the spice of life, if we were all the same, how boring would that be?! There is no rush, contrary to wh
